Love at first sight for first time buyers Jack and Tina

It was love at first sight for Jack Saunders and Tina Bagley when they visited Roman Heights, a new part of the Lichfield community, and now thanks to Help to Buy and Bovis Homes, the couple have made a dream move into their very first home there.

Jack, a business development manager, and Tina, an accountant, had made the decision to move in together and get on the property ladder.  They visited a Help to Buy show in Birmingham and found out about the Help to Buy Equity Loan scheme, which allows buyers to purchase a new build home worth up to £600,000 with just a 5% deposit and a 75% mortgage. The remaining 20% is covered by an equity loan from the government, which is interest free for the first five years.

The couple decided a new-build home would be the ideal choice.  Jack remembers; “We decided to visit Roman Heights one weekend and loved it instantly. We went back the next day and put our deposit down!”

“The whole process was so smooth and straight-forward! Moving to a new house is a breeze! Using the Help to Buy scheme was really easy and the sales team at Bovis Homes were great, helping us every step of the way.”

The couple were able to visit their home through the build stages and were given the chance to personalise it by choosing their own tiles and kitchen units.

The whole process from reserving their plot to getting the keys to their new home took five months giving them plenty of time to prepare for the big move.

“We were given so much choice, which was brilliant,” says Jack. “We are really happy with our selections and the kitchen and bathroom look great!”
